WebSTAR Server Suite 4.4 released and comes bundled with Adobe GoLive 5.0!

New Features in WebSTAR 4.4:

Increased Java Support

Support for Tomcat, which serves Java Servlets and JavaServer Pages (JSP). This opens up access to thousands of freely available Java applications.

Improved Compatibility

Improved support for MacOS 9.1. Plus support for CarbonLib 1.2 which will allows WebSTAR to run in classic mode on MacOS X. There’s also support for the latest Mac machines.

Customisable web-based mail interface

Allows WebSTAR users to customise the appearance of a web interface for collecting emails via a browser when out of the office.

Flexmail support

This takes input from an HTML form and sends out an email with the contents to an email address. Great for feedback from an off-site web site and for supporting email lists.

New WebSTAR and 4D integration

Two new plug-ins have been released – 4DConnect and 4Dlink.

4DLink calls 4D via HTTP as a CGI. 4DLink accesses 4D methods, which generate dynamic pages.

4DConnect calls 4D via a plug-in and sends an HTML template containing tags to 4D. 4D replaces the tags with values generated from within 4D.
